The Mobtown Ballroom started in 2011 as a swing dance venue in a deconsecrated, 19th-century Episcopal church that had seen better days. It was our beloved home for 12 years.
In 2023, we moved to 30 W North Ave in Station North and expanded to add a coffee shop and café that is open 6 days/week. The Mobtown Ballroom and Café has many of the touches that made the old space special, including the installation of a brand new sprung wood dance floor. Our full kitchen serves during the daytime café hours and during our famous nighttime events. We serve top notch espresso, incredible baked goods, and excellent comfort food. We are maniacal about quality ingredients.
We aim to be a hub for arts, nightlife, and community in Station North and in Baltimore generally. We hope you join us for all the old reasons--events, classes, dances, Baltimore’s greatest New Year’s Eve party--but we also hope to lure you here during the day for a spacious place to read, work, gather with friends, or go on a first date.
For more on our style and vibe, explore some of the links on this page. We take our place in this city and in this neighborhood very seriously, and we try to do business like moral adults. Everyone is welcome here, but racism, homophobia, transphobia, or creepy behavior will be dealt with swiftly. We do our best to take care of one another. Try it out--we think you'll like it.
